The city of Platteville will soon seek applicants to fill a recent Common Council vacancy. Tom Nall announced at the July 22 council meeting that he was resigning, saying he needed to focus on addressing a health issue. Nall first served on the council from 2015 to 2018, then was elected again in 2024. City Manager Clint Langreck told the Telegraph Herald the city would proceed with an appointment process to fill the vacancy, rather than hold an election. Nall’s term expires in 2027. Langreck said the city would begin soliciting candidates within the next week.
