Dubuque County supervisors received 20 applications for the vacant county recorder position by Friday’s deadline and intend to conduct interviews this week. The supervisors will choose each of their top three candidates by noon Wednesday and candidates will be interviewed Friday. There could be as many as nine candidates interviewed Friday, though supervisors could have some overlap in their top choices. The supervisors seek to fill a vacancy created by the resignation last month of Karol Kennedy less than a year after she was elected. The newly appointed recorder would serve through the November 2026 election.
