Jo Daviess County paraprofessional sentenced for sex crime

A Jo Daviess County woman who worked as a paraprofessional at an area school was sentenced to 180 days in jail and four years of probation after prosecutors said she engaged in a sexual relationship with a student. 43-year-old Alycia J. Deckert received the in Jo Daviess County Circuit Court after pleading guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse. The charge stems from an investigation into Deckert reportedly having a sexual relationship with a student under the age of 18.
