Rep. Shannon Lundgren announces candidacy for Congress seat

A Dubuque County state lawmaker is the latest Republican to announce her candidacy for Congress. Iowa Rep. Shannon Lundgren, R-Peosta, announced today on social media that she will run in the Republican primary to replace Republican Rep. Ashley Hinson, of Marion, who is running for Senate. In her campaign announcement, Lundgren touts her support for President Donald Trump. Lundgren will face former U.S. Rep. Rod Blum of Dubuque, state Sen. Charlie McClintock of Alburnett; and former State Rep. Joe Mitchell in the primary.
