Polls will be open today to narrow the field of candidates seeking the Ward 4 seat on the Dubuque City Council. Polls for the special primary election will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Vote centers will be open at St. John’s Parish House or Fogarty Hall. Eligible voters in Ward 4 can cast their ballot at either location. Absentee ballots must be received by 8 p.m. Seven people are running for the Ward 4 seat, which previously was held by Mayor Brad Cavanagh. The candidates are Carla Anderson, Hilary Dalton, Tim Flynn, Paul Kern, Erik Kronstedt, R.R.S. Stewart and Katy Wethal.
