A Dubuque man is facing multiple charges after a series of events on Thursday. Police arrested 26-year-old Dakota Vandermillen on charges of 1st-degree burglary, 2nd-degree burglary, assault on a person in a certain occupation, operating while under the influence and possession of marijuana. According to a report, Vandermillen tried to hit another vehicle multiple times. When the driver pulled over, he told her she owed him money and took her car keys before leaving the scene. Officials say Vandermillen then pulled in front of a different vehicle, blocking it, and causing a crash. Vandermillen got out of his vehicle and punched the other driver several times. Police say Vandermillen was drunk when he was arrested and that he had a baggie of marijuana in his shirt pocket. After being arrested, Vandermillen said he was in pain and was taken to Unity Point Health Finley Hospital where he spit on a nurse.
