The filing period for partisan candidates in Iowa’s June 7th primary election has begun. Individuals running with no political party affiliation or as an independent also must file candidacy papers, even though their names will not appear on the ballot until the November 8th general election. Nomination petitions require 100 signatures. Offices up for election include two positions on the Dubuque County Board of Supervisors and county attorney, treasurer and recorder. The filing deadline ends at 5 p.m. March 25th.
