The Salvation Army of Dubuque received a special donation anonymously last week. The Salvation Army says someone dropped a 1979 Gold Kruggerand in a kettle at Dubuque HyVee on Locust Street. The coin is estimated to be valued at about $1,450. The 2019 overall goal for the Kettle Campaign is $225,000, with a goal of $118,000 coming directly from the kettles. The kettle campaign runs through Tuesday.
