A Dubuque man is facing multiple charges after fleeing police and being found with drugs. According to a report, 30-year-old Le Andre Tookes drove off during a traffic stop in Jo Daviess County Tuesday. An East Dubuque officer pursued Tookes across the Julien Dubuque Bridge where he stopped in an alley along Central Avenue. Police then arrested Tookes. Further investigation showed he had cocaine and a half-pound of marijuana. Tookes also smelled of alcohol. He faces charges in Iowa of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of cocaine, 3rd-offense operating while intoxicated and driving while barred. Charges are pending in Illinois for fleeing and eluding, speeding, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving while his license was revoked.
