Vehicle Strikes Pedestrian, Causing Injuries

Dubuque Police say a pedestrian was struck and injured by a vehicle Saturday in a retail store parking lot in Dubuque. 24 year old Tamiya Cook of Dubuque was taken by ambulance to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. According to police, a vehicle driven by 54 year old Kenneth Spoerl of Elizabeth, Illinois was driving west in the Walmart parking lot at approximately 4 p.m. when he turned in front of the store and struck Cook, who was walking in a crosswalk.
