A Dubuque man was arrested early Sunday after police say he fired a shotgun outside his home. According to a report, officers were called to the residence on Ellis Street around 3a Sunday. During an investigation, Dubuque Police learned that 65-year-old David Houselog had fired two rounds into the ground near his apartment. Houselog told authorities he wanted to see if the shotgun still worked. A search of his home also turned up a prescription pill bottle with no label that contained 91 pills. Houselog was arrested on charges of reckless use of a firearm and unlawful possession of a prescription drug.
