Federal Funding For Field of Dreams Stadium

Federal funds will be going to the Field of Dreams for a permanent stadium in Dyersville. Dubuque County supervisors have allocated $5-million dollars towards the project. Officials say the plan calls for a 3-thousand seat stadium next to the movie site. Total cost for the new ballpark is estimated at more than $50-million dollars. Construction could start this fall and be done by late summer 2024 – that depends on securing the funding. A temporary 8-thousand seat venue was added last year to host an MLB game between the Yankees and White Sox. The Cubs and Reds are set to play there in August.
