A Dubuque man – who was arrested for drunk driving early Monday – reportedly caused multiple crashes that injured himself and another man. Authorities were called to Asbury and Hillcrest Roads in Dubuque around 10p Sunday night. Police found 51-year-old Michael Curler of Dubuque pinned under two vehicles that had crashed into a nearby building. Curler was taken to University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City for treatment. The crash was caused by 39-year-old Timothy Simon. Prior to that crash, Simon was involved in a 3-vehicle crash at Pennsylvania Avenue and the Northwest Arterial. Simon was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated. He also was cited with failure to maintain control of his vehicle, driving on the wrong side the road, a red light violation, improper use of lanes, reckless driving and leaving the scene of a crash. Officials took Simon to Unity-Point Health-Finley Hospital for treatment of a head injury before booking him on his charge.
