Two Local Students Receive National Merit Scholarships

Two local finalists in the National Merit Scholarship program have earned university-sponsored scholarships. Cole Oftedahl, of Dubuque Senior High School, earned a National Merit Scholarship from University of Texas at Dallas, and Mythi Diamond, of Monticello High School, earned a National Merit Scholarship from University of Iowa. They were among more than 2,600 finalists who won scholarships through colleges and universities. The scholarships are for $500 to $2,000 annually for up to four years.
