One Person Injured in Two Vehicle Cash in Downtown Dubuque

One person was injured Thursday morning in a crash in downtown Dubuque. 57 year old Leon Cortez of Easley, South Carolina was taken by ambulance to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. According to a crash report, the crash happened at about 10:25 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of West Fourth and Locust streets. The report states that 32 year old Jessica Cortez of Easley, South Carolina was traveling north on Locust Street with Leon Cortez as a passenger. 18 year Emma Daniel of Dubuque was westbound on West Fourth. Jessica Cortez ran a red light at the intersection, causing her vehicle to be hit by Daniel’s vehicle. Cortez’s vehicle flipped over once and came to a rest on the vehicle’s wheels.
