The 35th edition of the Special Olympics Iowa Winter Games begin tonight in Dubuque. The Grand Harbor Resort, Sundown Mountain, Camp Albrecht Acres, and Dubuque Ice Arena will host various competitions and activities throughout the two-day competition. The Winter Games will officially kick off with the Opening Ceremony beginning at 6pm tonight in the Grand River Center Exhibit Hall B. The ceremony includes the Parade of Athletes and the lighting of the Flame of Hope. Local law enforcement will play a special role in the lighting of the Flame of Hope.
