Iowa State Representative Mike Sexton is sponsoring a bill to keep Daylight Saving Time year round. Sexton says people are just tired of changing their clocks and the effect it has on their children and their lives. Sexton says Daylight Saving Time was introduced in the US and many European countries during World War One, to conserve fuel that made electricity. The extra hour of sunlight at the end of the day in the spring and summer helped farmers – many who didn’t have electricity on the farm. Sexton says the majority of people who’ve talked to him about this issue prefer to stay on Daylight Saving Time, to get that extra hour of sunlight in the summer.
