Police said a Dubuque man arrested for assault was also in possession of a stolen firearm. 24 year old Leopoldo Vera of Dubuque, was arrested around 4:30 pm on Tuesday on charges of trafficking stolen weapons and domestic assault with injury. A report states police responding to a residence on Francis Street in Dubuque for a report of an assault were notified that Vera kept a gun in the residence. A check on the semiautomatic handgun indicated that it was reported stolen on October 11th in 2021 in Dubuque.
