East Dubuque City Council members this week received an update from Fire Chief Joe Heim on a bond measure that voters will be asked to approve on April 4. If approved by a majority of voters, the city will issue up to $1.5 million in bonds to buy two new firetrucks. The department then would eliminate three of its four current vehicles — a 1980 rescue truck, a 1991 fire engine and a 1996 fire engine.
