The first of two Honor Flights will take off this morning around 7 o’clock from the Dubuque Regional Airport for a one day trip to Washington D.C. to tour the various war memorials. The second flight will be departing Tuesday morning. Officials with Honor Flight say around 100 war veterans from the Korean and Vietnam Wars will be on each flight accompanied by 60 guardians. Each flight will return at night and will be at the Grand River Center at 10 o’clock and the public is invited to be there to welcome the veterans and show their appreciation for their service to their country.
