Hazel Green Man Injured in Crash Near Galena

Authorities say one person was injured in a two-vehicle rollover crash Friday near Galena. 35 year old Dale Hammer Jr. of Hazel Green, was taken to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. According to the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, a vehicle driven by 25 year old Timothy Krieger of Dubuque was traveling south on Highway 84 following farm equipment at approximately 4 p.m. when Hammer’s southbound vehicle struck the rear of Krieger’s vehicle. Hammer’s vehicle rolled several times and came to rest in a ditch. Hammer was cited with operating an uninsured vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
