The Iowa Supreme Court will not review additional evidence in the trial of a man accused in the murder of Mollie Tibbetts. The state’s high court also denied a stay in the trial of Cristhian Rivera which was set to begin Tuesday in Woodbury County. He is being charged with 1st-degree murder in the 2018 killing of the 20-year-old University of Iowa student from Brooklyn. Rivera’s attorneys wanted more time to interview the state’s witnesses and investigate new blood and fingerprint evidence. A new trial date hasn’t been scheduled.
