Authorities have released the name of a New Vienna man killed in a car crash last week. 63 year old Charles Coley died as a result of a one-vehicle accident June 6th just west of Asbury. According to the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. on June 6 on Asbury Road. A report says that Coley drove off the west side of the road before traveling about 70 yards through a field and down a wooded embankment. Coley was taken by ambulance to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Officials believe the crash was caused by a medical issue, but authorities are awaiting confirmation from the state medical examiner’s office.
