Authorities say a Jones County man took a $70,000 piece of equipment from a Dubuque County implement dealer earlier this year. 37 year old David Sterling of Monticello, Iowa, was arrested Tuesday at the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center on a warrant charging first-degree theft. Roeder Implement reported on May 16 that surveillance footage showed an individual taking a towable boom lift valued at $70,000 from the business around 11:55 p.m. May 14. Reports say Investigators with the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department reviewed City of Dubuque traffic camera footage and tracked the suspect vehicle around the city, including in the area of Q Casino. Casino surveillance footage of two individuals associated with the suspect vehicle was posted on social media by authorities. The lift boom later was found abandoned in Linn County.
