A Dubuque man has been sentenced to two years of probation for displaying a handgun during an argument. 26 year old Tony Hull was given the sentence in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County after pleading guilty to a charge of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, as well as an unrelated charge of interference with official acts. A report says that Hull displayed a handgun while arguing with 40 year old Joseph Harris of Dubuque, on March 17 at the apartment complex where Hull was living. Harris was there with a friend working on a vacant apartment. Harris told police that he and Hull got into an argument about Hull banging on the main entrance door, and Hull complained that Harris was keeping the door locked. According to a report, Hull then went to his apartment and came back with a handgun, which he displayed while making threatening statements before returning to his apartment.
