As the coronavirus spreads across China, the City of Dubuque is trying to find ways to help. Dubuque has been a sister-city with Handan, China since the 1980s. Handan is between Beijing and Wuhan; the epicenter of the coronavirus. That town is a major transportation hub between the two cities. Currently, there are 28 confirmed cases of coronavirus within Handan. Though, panic has set in for the remaining three-million people living there. Iowa officials have received an email from Handan asking for medical supplies – such as masks and gloves. However, the virus has strained medical surpluses around the world; including the US. Dubuque groups are still looking for ways they can send aid to Handan.
