Manchester will be getting a new police chief this spring. Chief Jim Hauschild has announced his upcoming retirement. Hauschild is taking opportunity of the City’s voluntary early retirement program that was offered to employees late last year. This April will mark Hauschild’s 30th anniversary with the Manchester Police Department – and he says after three decades, he feels now is the time to retire. Hauschild’s last day as Manchester’s police chief will be May 31st. A decision on his replacement has not yet been made.
