Police say a driver crashed into an utility pole while leading authorities on a chase that reached 60 mph in a 30-mph zone in Dubuque. 45 year old Anthony McKee of Dubuqe was arrested around 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of Walnut Street on charges of felony eluding, second-offense operating while intoxicated and interference with official acts. Reports say that police attempted to stop McKee’s vehicle for expired registration Saturday in the area of Dell and Arlington streets. McKee’s vehicle briefly stopped before driving away at a high rate of speed. During the pursuit, McKee’s vehicle struck a utility pole near the intersection of Loras Boulevard and Prairie Street. The vehicle continued driving at a high rate of speed, with officers following at the posted speed limit. McKee’s vehicle was located in the area of Race and Rose Streets. McKee ran from the vehicle and eventually was apprehended in the 1100 block of Walnut Street.
