Dubuque Man Sentenced To Prison For Possessing Porn

A Dubuque man was sentenced to 28 years in prison for convincing two minors from other states to record and send him child pornography. According to a report, 21-year-old Alex McClanahan pleaded guilty on Sept. 7, 2023 to one count of sexual exploitation of children. McClanahan admitted in the plea agreement that he had conversed with a 13-year-old and a 15-year-old over Instagram in 2022, requesting sexually explicit content. Investigators said they found about 700 videos containing child pornography on McClanahan’s phone. McClanahan was sentenced to 336 months in prison and a five-year term of supervised release after the prison term.
