Authorities say multiple tactical strategies were needed to bring a Scales Mound man with two outstanding warrants into custody. 28 year old Jesse Jones was arrested Saturday on warrants from both Jo Daviess and Grant counties. According to a press release from the Jo Daviess Sheriff’s Department, authorities learned that Jones was located at a property on West Blackjack Road in rural Hanover. Deputies surrounded a building on the property and attempted to get Jones to leave the building, but he refused. The Northwest Illinois Critical Incident Response Team was called to assist. Multiple times, authorities used K-9 units and “chemical munitions” to try and force Jones out of the building, but to no avail. The CIRT unit entered the building and located Jones inside of a locked vehicle. A report says the CIRT team made entry into the locked vehicle and Jones was able to be taken into custody. The incident remains under investigation.
