Intoxicated Driver Leads Police On Chase

Authorities say an intoxicated driver led police on a chase in Dubuque after striking two parked vehicles. 34 year old Matthew Theisen of Asbury was arrested around 11pm Saturday in the area of U.S. Highway 61/151 and the Locust Street Connector on charges of eluding and second-offense operating while intoxicated. A report says that Theisen was driving a vehicle pulling a boat on a trailer when his vehicle struck two parked vehicles in the 1800 block of Admiral Sheehy Drive. Theisen then drove from the scene. A Dubuque Police Department officer attempted to stop Theisen’s vehicle at the intersection of East 16th Street and Kerper Boulevard. Theisen continued driving and drove through a red light. Tire deflation devices caused the vehicle to stop at the intersection of U.S. 61/151 and the Locust Street Connector.Theisen was then taken into custody.
