Police said a man drove more than 120 mph on a local highway with two kids in the vehicle. 42-year-old Marlon Snead of Dubuque was arrested at 9:08 p.m. Sunday in the area of U.S. 20 and Old Highway Road on charges of two counts of child endangerment. Court documents state that a Dubuque Police Department officer observed Snead’s vehicle traveling 121 mph in a 65-mph zone on U.S. 20 west of the Old Highway Road intersection. Two children, ages 9 and 6, were in the vehicle. Snead told police he was traveling at such a high speed because one of the children was suffering from diarrhea and needed to use a restroom.
