Iowa Governor Reynolds has issued a State of Public Health Disaster Emergency – which activates the public health response and recovery aspects of the State Disaster Emergency Plan. That went into effect at noon Tuesday. The plan takes significant steps to require social distancing and limit community spread of the Coronavirus by implementing temporary measures. This includes moving restaurants to drive-thru, carry-out, and delivery only – as well as closures of certain businesses such as bars and recreational facilities. The proclamation also allows state agencies additional flexibility in responding to the COVID-19 situation.
