New Trial Sate For Man Accused Of Attempted Murder

A Dubuque man accused of attempted murder has a new trial date. 33 year old Lorenzo Eggleston is charged in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County with attempted murder, willful injury causing serious injury, going armed with intent, participation in a riot, unlawful assembly and assault with a dangerous weapon. Eggleston’s trial now is set to begin July 9. It previously was set to start Tuesday. He has pleaded not guilty. The charges relate to a May 28, 2023, incident in which reports say 26 year old Cory Jones arrived at MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center with multiple stab wounds. Jones reported that he was “jumped” by a group of men near West 15th Street and Central Avenue.
