Warm and dry weather has continued to allow the Iowa corn harvest to push forward at a brisk pace this past week. The USDA Iowa Crop Progress and Condition Report released by the USDA on Monday says the corn harvest is now 86-percent complete – that’s almost a week ahead of last year and twelve days ahead of average. The moisture content of the field corn being harvested is at 14-percent. The state’s soybean harvest was nearly complete at 96-percent.Iowa Ag Secretary Mike Naig says following what is likely to be one of the driest Octobers on record, weather outlooks for early November are indicating more chances for rainfall.
