Intoxicated driver strikes, injures skateboarder in Dubuque

Police said an intoxicated driver struck and injured a skateboarder in Dubuque. 22-year-old Alex A. Mayne of Dubuque, was transported by private vehicle to UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital for treatment of his injuries. According to a Dubuque Police Department crash report, Mayne was traveling on his skateboard west on Fifth Street in the middle of the street at 10:10 p.m. Friday, when he was struck by a vehicle driven by 47-year-old Kristi M. Durr of Dubuque, in the intersection of Fifth and Iowa Streets. Durr was arrested on a charge of second-offense operating while intoxicated. She was cited with failure to provide proof of financial liability and leaving the scene of a crash without exchanging information. Mayne was cited with crossing at other than a crosswalk.
