Names released in fatal Dubuque County semi crash

On Monday just after 6 PM the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office, Dubuque Police Department and Key West Fire and EMS responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 61 southbound just north of the Buncombe Rd intersection for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Investigation revealed that 26-year-old Jayesth Paul of Canada was pulled over to the side of the road checking and securing the load on his semi when 27-year-old Kaylynn Knight of Maquoketa was driving southbound and struck the rear of the semi-trailer and Paul. Paul was located deceased on scene and Knight was transported to a local hospital to be evaluated. Highway 61 southbound between Skyline Road and Buncombe Rd was closed until around 9:00 PM.
