Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department investigating death near Warren

A death investigation is underway in Jo Daviess County following a possible hit-and-run, the sheriff’s office said.  Limited details were given. The sheriff’s office said the incident happened on Illinois Route 78, just west of Warren. Officials believe it happened sometime after 9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28.  The Jo Daviess Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in its investigation. Anyone with information or who might have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the sheriff’s office. Callers can remain anonymous. Updates will be provided when more information is available.
