The University of Wisconsin-Platteville will be ceasing operations on its Baraboo Sauk County campus, effective May 22, 2026. The decision came after “careful consideration,” and that students, staff, and faculty are supported throughout this transition. Officials said that the spring 2026 semester will continue as planned with in-person classes at the Baraboo Sauk County campus. UW-Platteville is set to help students transition seamlessly to its main campus; the university will develop individualized plans for staff and faculty. Baraboo Sauk County campus’ enrollment is 178 total, with the average class size being 14, according to the Universities of Wisconsin.
