Youngster On Bicycle Injured When Struck By Vehicle

A young bicyclist suffered minor injuries Sunday when he was struck by a vehicle in Dubuque. According to Dubuque Police, an 11 year old boy from Bellevue was taken to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Police say 83 year old Wayne Ellerman of Dubuque was driving south on Rhomberg Avenue Sunday afternoon when the boy turned his bicycle in front of the vehicle, attempting to cross the street. Witnesses told police the bicycle darted out in front of the vehicle from the sidewalk.
