Fatal Two-Vehicle Accident South of Dubuque

Dubuque Police & Fire personnel responded to Highway 151/61 at approximately 3:45pm Friday afternoon for a motor vehicle collision. A preliminary investigation revealed a vehicle operated by 78 year old Margaret Coble of Dubuque was crossing the southbound lanes of the highway from Lake Eleanor Road and collided with a southbound vehicle operated by 58 year old Scott De Young of Hazel Green. Coble was pronounced dead at the scene.  De Young was taken to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.
