The trial for a man accused of killing of Mollie Tibbetts of Brooklyn will likely be moved to January. Attorneys for the state and Cristhian Rivera filed a joint motion to delay the trial in Woodbury County. Rivera is facing first-degree murder for the July 2018 stabbing death of the 20-year-old Tibetts. Both sides requested that the trial be delayed until January 26th, 2021. COVID-19 and the effectiveness of interpreters wearing masks were among reasons cited for the postponement.
