Eight of the nine schools that went to referendum were approved. Darlington’s referendum was for a capital improvement project, while the rest were operating referendums. Benton, Black Hawk, Cassville, Darlington, Prairie du Chien, Shullsburg, Wauzeka Stueben, and Weston all passed their referendum. Dodgeville’s non-recurring Operating Referendum which would have authorized the school district to exceed their revenue limit by $2.5 million per year for three years did not pass with a 1619 to 1680 vote.
