A rural Hanover man was injured in a crash Wednesday morning when his vehicle hit a bridge support. The Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office reports 28-year-old Robert Welsh was driving on Blackjack Road near Galena about 6:45am. Authorities say Welsh’s vehicle went off the side of the road, striking a bridge support. He was taken to Midwest Medical Center in Galena for treatment of his injuries. According to the sheriff’s report, the vehicle was disabled in the crash and the bridge support had significant damage. The crash remains under investigation.
