A person has died following a Dubuque County crash on Friday. The crash occurred around 4:30 AM on 1st Street South, under the Highway 20 overpass bridges. 41-year-old Gabriel E. Rodriguez Pina of Bloomingdale, Illinois and 41-year-old Gaurav Karwal of Cedar Falls, Iowa had serious injuries and were transported to MercyOne Dubuque. Rodriguez Pina was transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics a short time later. The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department announced in a press release on Tuesday that Rodriguez Pina died from injuries sustained in the crash. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
