The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is encouraging the public to submit comments on a Grant County project that could result in the incidental taking of a rare frog. The DNR proposes to issue a permit for the incidental taking of Blanchard’s cricket frog, which may result from the ITC Multi-value Project 5 project in Grant County. The Project involves vegetation management within Iowa Transmission Company’s existing transmission right-of-way. Work will be completed between January 1, 2027, and May 1, 2027. The presence of the state endangered Blanchard’s cricket frog is confirmed in the vicinity of the project site. Written comments regarding project-related impacts to the Blanchard’s cricket frog must be submitted to the DNR by November 5.
