Dubuque Special Council Meeting Tonight

Members of the Dubuque City Council will decide tonight how they’ll replace a councilman who recently stepped down. Council Member Brett Shaw, who represented Ward 1, resigned from his post because he’s moving to the Quad Cities for his job. A special meeting of the city council to work on finding his replacement will be held virtually tonight starting at 5. According to the meeting agenda, Dubuque’s City Council will choose between appointing someone to fill the vacancy – or having a special election. The meeting will be live streamed on the city website.
