A man has been sentenced to five years in prison for a Dubuque shooting in 2016. 37 year old Jeareau O’Bryant had previously pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids to unlawfully possessing a firearm while subject to the terms of a protective order that expressly prohibited him from having a firearm or ammunition. He also must serve a three-year term of supervised release after his prison term. O’Bryant was involved in a bar fight on September 11th, 2016, in Dubuque. After the fight, O’Bryant shot at another man several times who had been in the bar.
