Dubuque Man Pleads Guilty In Near Fatal Drug Overdose

An eastern Iowa man has admitted to selling the heroin that caused a near-fatal overdose. 26-year-old Michael Greenwood of Dubuque has pled guilty to a count of distributing heroin near a playground. He said in his plea that he sold heroin in Dubuque between 2016 and 2018 – including 100 dollars’ worth of heroin to 2 women. After using heroin, one of the women lost consciousness and had trouble breathing. The woman’s family took her to the hospital, where she was revived with Narcan. A sentencing date for Greenwood has not been set yet.
