Dubuque County’s public health officials have started communicating directly with the leaders of its smaller cities to see if they would consider local mask mandates. County Health Department Director Patrice Lambert provided the latest data Monday during a morning meeting of the county Board of Supervisors. She reported that, as of 9 a.m. Monday, the county’s confirmed COVID-19 total had climbed by 915 cases since Octpber 5th. Lambert said she would go to the smaller communities’ city councils with the new data and ask them to consider acting. County supervisors voted, 2-1, last month against issuing a countywide mask mandate.
